Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2, 2026
Gukart is a shopping-comparison service. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We collect as little as we can.
What we collect
- Account: if you sign up — your name, email, a securely hashed password (never stored in plain text), and your saved items, watchlists, and shopping interests.
- Usage: to run and improve the service, we log the searches you make and clicks on outbound ‘Buy at store’ links (which store, which item). This helps us rank results and understand what shoppers want.
- Browser extension (optional): if you install it, clicking ‘Save to Gukart’ on a product page sends that product’s public details (title, price, image, page URL, store name) to your Gukart list, linked to your account by a private token stored only in your browser. The extension does not read your browsing history, does not run in the background, and acts only when you click the button.
- Email: your address if you create an account or subscribe to deal alerts.
- Cookies: a few essential cookies keep you logged in and remember your email at sign-in. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
How we use it: to provide search, price comparison, saved items, watchlists, and price-drop alerts; to send only the email you asked for (verification, password resets, and deal alerts you subscribed to, each with one-click unsubscribe); and to improve Gukart.
Who we share it with: we do not sell your personal data. We use service providers to run Gukart (our database host and our email provider) and we link you to stores and affiliate networks. When you search, your query is sent to the stores/data providers we query (e.g. eBay) to fetch live results. When you click a ‘Buy at store’ link you go to that store (sometimes via an affiliate network), and their privacy policy then applies. Gukart earns a commission on some links at no extra cost to you — see How Gukart makes money. We may disclose information if required by law.
Your choices & rights: you can delete your account and its data at any time by contacting us. If you’re in California (CCPA) or the EU/UK (GDPR), you have rights to access, correct, delete, and opt out of any ‘sale’ of your data — we don’t sell data and will honor verified requests. Every marketing email has one-click unsubscribe. You can uninstall the extension any time; its token lives only in your browser.
Security & retention: passwords are salted and hashed, connections are encrypted, and we keep account data while your account is active. Gukart isn’t intended for anyone under 16, and we don’t knowingly collect their data.
Changes: we’ll update this page and the date above when this policy changes.
Questions or requests: email gukasyanmaxik@gmail.com or use our data-request form.
